The purpose of the RetroList is to help Retrosheet run a little smoother. Retro volunteers can use the list to communicate with each other about anything Retro-related, for example:1) obtaining information about specific games (does anyone have The Sporting News boxscore for PHI4205172?); 2) play syntax for unusual plays; 3) official scoring rules; 4) good sources for locating game accounts; 5) scorebooks or other items containing game accounts up for auction (to prevent Retrosheet members from bidding against each other, or to "cover" the auction if the finder cannot do so); 6) what games are missing from the Retrovaults and what methods are working to locate those games; and 7) general information that would be of use to a volunteer when working in a Retrocapacity.

The SABR Scouts eGroup is a restricted and unmoderated discussion group for members of The Society for American Baseball Research - Scouts Research Committee. The expressed purpose of this site is to foster interactive communication between members regarding areas of interest about professional baseball scouts and player development personnel. Our designated research projects are to compile a comprehensive historical log of full-time major league scouts including profiles and oral histories, and formulating the "Who-Signed-Who" Scout/Player database with complete biographical, statistical and organizational information. Subscribers are also encouraged to post the URLs, titles and/or brief summaries of "Baseball Scouts in the News" articles that they believe would be of interest to other committee members. We support the work of the Scout of the Year Foundation and their current project to accord professional baseball scouts the long overdue recognition they deserve in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
