I was wondering what research tools you use when compiling minor league
stats for your files for baseball profiles?  Are there some books you use or
maybe some different web sites?  The minor league stats you provided on
Tannehill were great and helpful for my research purposes. I was hoping to
have access to some of those research tools.

Nathaniel,

In order of convenience:

Pat Doyle's Minor League Data Base (commercial standalone product)
SABR Minor League Stars, Volume I-II-III
Historical Register by Bob Hoie & Carlos Bauer
Daguerreotypes, eight editions
Baseball Register, 1940 to present
Who's Who in Baseball, 1912 to present
Who's Who in the Major Leagues, 1936-52
The Guides (1883 to current)

Except for very recent years (at MLB,baseball cube et al.) Minor League data is very hard to come by one the web. There are a few exceptions in very rare cases, and they usually turn up in Google.  The old books I have been collecting for 50 years come in very handy.
